ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has barred Election Tribunal (ET) constituted under presidential ordinance from working. The court while giving indication to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the petitioners directed Anjum Aqeel Khan to appear before it in persons on next hearing. Chief Justice (CJ) IHC while expressing displeasure over change of tribunal remarked why ET was changed. Election Commission (EC) has to be accountable. Fear God. You have leveled allegation against judge of high court that judge is involved in nepotism. He cares for non for the sake of his own interest. EC transferred the cases on this allegation. I will issue contempt of court notice for using language against the judge of high court. If the allegations leveled against the judge are proved wrong then he will go to jail and will become disqualified for five years. He leveled allegations and EC issued order. He gave these remarks during hearing of PTI petition filed against change of tribunal by EC and election amendment ordinance here Tuesday. Online
