Human activists demanded the government to take stern action against those unlawful travelling agents who put the lives of local youths in danger by sending them illegally abroad in search of jobs.
Addressing to a press conference here in Landi Kotal press club district Khyber on Thursday human rights activists Samiullah Afridi, Najeeb Khwarichan, Kitab Shah and Zahir Hussain said that allegedly local illegal travel agents started fleecing the poor youths with their both hands by sending them aboard illicitly.
They maintained that due to excessive unemployment, the local youth community preferred to go abroad in the search of their best future; however, the majority of locally functional travel agent companies risked youths’ lives by sending them without fulfilling international work travelling formalities.
Most of the willing youths were sent abroad on visit visa deceiving by false promises although on their arrival to their destinations, the visitors could not work as he was ineligible due to lack of work permit and as result they engaged in tough jobs where many had suffered a lot, they remarked.
They maintained that overseas Employment Promoters active in major cities of the country were the authorized ones to send the citizens abroad, keeping in view their work efficiency as per demand.
The Constitution of the country ensures provision of jobs opportunities and technical education to its citizens but ironically who have no such facility therefore it binding on the State to action against human traffickers, they added.
They urged the parents of the youths, willing to go abroad not to endanger the lives of their children and sent them overseas legally for jobs.
They demanded of the Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) human trafficking wing and other concerned authorities to adopt necessary steps to thwart illegal activities of the unauthorized travelling agents that not only risks lives of the citizens but earns a bad name for the country.
