Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government Minister Arshad Ayub Khan has warned illegal housing societies to register or face action.
He made these remarks while chairing an important meeting on illegal housing societies in KP, an official handout said.
The meeting decided that heavy fines will be imposed, and notices issued to those operating without No Objection Certificate (NOC) and legal requirements.
The meeting was attended by the Local Government Secretary Dawood Khan, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive policy to tackle illegal housing societies. Khan demanded lists of illegal societies, their duration of operation, and fulfillment of legal requirements.
He stressed that both the government and citizens suffer due to illegal societies, including issues with gas and electricity connections.
Register or face sealing, the minister warned, emphasizing the importance of a legal and organized housing sector in the province.
