Islamabad Police Shams colony police team arrested a wanted member of a snatcher gang involved in numerous snatching activities and recovered snatched mobile phone from his possession, a public relations officer said.
He said that, following the special directions of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Police has intensified the crackdown against the criminal elements in order to eliminate the crime in the city.
Following these directions, the Shams colony police team used technical and human resources and succeeded in apprehending a wanted member of a snatcher gang.
The accused was identified as Muhammad Ayaz. The police team also recovered the snatched mobile phone from his possession. Cases were registered against the nabbed accused and further investigation is underway.
During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed to being involved in snatching activities in the jurisdiction of Islamabad.
DIG Islamabad, Syed Ali Raza, directed all senior officials for an effective crackdown against the accused involved in criminal activities.
Citizens are urged to report any suspicious individual or activity through the emergency helpline “Pucar-15” or via the “ICT-15” app.
