Police Martyrs’ Day was observed in the Khyber on Sunday to pay tribute to the sacrifices of policemen who laid down their lives for the protection of the citizens.
In this connection a gathering was organized at police line, Shahkas, Jamrud that was attended by District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber Saleem Abbas Kulachvi, Brigadier Ali Adil Yameen, Members Provincial Assembly Abdul Ghani Afridi, and Suhail Afridi besides number of tribal elders, relatives of the martyred soldiers and police officials.
Addressing on the occasion DPO, Khyber Saleem Abbas Kulachvi and others paid homage to the unmatched sacrifices of the police cops and said the martyrs had written a history of bravery and courage with their blood.
Those who sacrificed their lives were not only heroes of the forces but also of the whole nation, they added and said observing the Police Martyrs Day aimed to honor brave fighters of the nation and express solidarity with their families.
Police Martyrs’ Day reminded us about the unforgettable sacrifices of the policemen, they remarked. Earlier, a blood donation camp was organized where the police officials donated their blood for the ailing segments of the society.
Besides, floral wreaths were also laid at the martyrs’ memorial and offered fateha for the departed souls.
