Mazhar Iqbal assumed post of District Police Officer (DPO) Khyber here in police line, Shahkas, Jamrud on Tuesday.
The new appointed DPO, Khyber was warmly received by the Superintendent Police(investigation)Rohul Amin,Deputy SP(headquarter)Hikmat Khan Afridi and Station House Officers(SHOs)of all police stations of the district.
A smart contingent of police presented a guard of honor.
The district police head visited the memorial of police martyrs, laid a floral wreath on it and saluted it.
Later on, the DPO introduced to the subordinate police officers.
Speaking on the introductory meeting with the police officials DPO Mazhar Iqbal said that restore of durable peace in the area, wipe out narcotics smugglings, infra-structure of police force and welfare of the heirs’ martyred police were among his top priorities.
He maintained that tribal elders would be engaged to settle long lasting disputes among the tribesmen.
Tribal elders will be taken onboard on every important matter and negligence of police force while executing their duties will not be tolerated, he added.
The district police chief said that the police officials who perform their duties honestly will be rewarded and vice versa, the district police chief said.
With support of the Khyber police officers, policing will be made a pro-tribal and role model of the department.
