PESHAWAR
Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued a stay order, stopping, temporarily, the directorate of commerce education from assigning management cadre roles to teaching staff till the government finalized service rules for the management cadre.
A bench consisting of Justice Ijaz Anwar and Justice Ijaz Khan gave the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government a fortnight to respond to a petition filed by the management cadres officials of the directorate of commerce against the posting of teaching cadre officers to the position meant for them.
According to details, the provincial establishment department has approved service rules for the appointment of management cadre posts in the directorate of commerce education.
The vetting process of the rules has also been completed by the law department with the emphasis that it should be published by the higher education department in the official gazette and copies be printed and provided to the law department. However, despite the completion of all the procedures of the regulation, the higher education department has yet to issue the notification due to which there is a wave of concern among the management cadre.
According to the management cadre officers, teaching cadres are being appointed to the management cadre posts in the directorate due to political influence.
The PHC has temporarily stopped the directorate of commerce education from assigning management cadre roles to teaching staff till the government finalized service rules and issued proper notification for the management cadre. The court has sought reply from the provincial government and adjourned the case.
