Police on Monday arrested a suspect ringleader of the motorcycle lifters gang in an injured state after a police encounter.
According to a statement, the police during the operation also recovered six stolen motorcycles on the identification of arrested suspect ringleader.
The operation was carried out on the instructions of SP City Division Ehsan Shah, under the supervision of DSP Yekatut Circle Tawheed Khan, SHO Police Station Agha Mir Jani Shah Ejazullah.
Police also claimed that the ring leader arrested in police encounter was allegedly involved in attacks on police force.
The arrested person has been identified as Salman son of Pervez resident of Jogan Shah area of the provincial capital.
The arrested accused confessed his crime during the initial investigation and gave the names of other accused of the gang.
A team has been formed to arrest the other members of the gang involved in motorcycle lifting, said police.
