LAHORE: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) arrested five terrorists in intelligence based operations (IBOs) in the different cities of Punjab. A spokesman of CTD said on Saturday that the operations were conducted in Lahore, Mianwali, Bahawalpur, Jhang and Toba Tek Singh during which two hardcore terrorists of Fitnal Khawarij and three other terrorists were arrested. He said that the CTD recovered explosives, four handgrenades, three detonators, 18 feet safety fuse wire, bullets, weapons, mobile phone and cash from possession of the nabbed terrorists. The spokesman further stated the detainees wanted to create fear and panic among the people through conducting terrorist activities in different areas. The CTD authorities said that during ongoing week, 109 suspects were arrested while 22,626 interrogated during combing operations. The CTD was committed to root out the menace of terrorism to achieve target of safe Punjab. News Agency
