British Trade Commissioner for the Middle East and Pakistan and Consul General to Dubai Mr. Oliver Christian visited the Centaurus Shopping Mall and held a meeting with the Mall management and discussed trade and investment cooperation between the business communities of the two countries.
He was received by Chief Executive Officer of The Centaurus Group, Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan and President of The Centaurus Group, Sardar Rashid Ilyas Khan.
The visiting British trade commissioner was accompanied by the British Deputy High Commissioner Karachi & UK Trade Director for Pakistan Sarah Mooney and Deputy Trade Director Mr. Hamed Kamal.
The meeting’s agenda focused on fostering trade promotion, forging investment opportunities, and boosting tourism.
The discussions centered on promoting trade, identifying business opportunities, and fostering mutual cooperation. Key topics included generating employment opportunities, attracting foreign direct investments, and exploring Pakistan’s potential across various sectors.
It was agreed to highlight numerous tourism and investment opportunities and the imperative to promote Pakistan’s tourism industry on an international scale.
Besides, business opportunities in the United Kingdom were explored in sectors such as real estate, hospitality, information technology, medical, and the export of building materials and agricultural products into UK markets.
Mr. Yasir underscored the significance of the United Kingdom as one of Pakistan’s prominent trade partners, with an annual trade volume approximating £4 billion. This partnership presents substantial opportunities for expansion through the exploration of additional sectors and the organization of regular trade exhibitions and investment conferences between the two countries in the foreseeable future.
