The newly appointed head of the National Security Agency, Lt. Gen. Muhammad Asim Malik will assume his duties today, Monday. Few days ago, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had appointed Lt. Gen. Asim Malik as DG ISI. He is set to assume his new role on Monday, Lt Gen Muhammad Asim Malik will be succeeding Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum. Lt Gen Asim Malik, HI (M) is currently serving as Adjutant General at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi. He has previously commanded an infantry division in Balochistan and an infantry brigade in Waziristan.
