Increase in salary
LAHORE
Lahore High Court (LHC) has declared non maintainable the petition seeking fixation of monthly salary in Pakistan equal to 1000 dollars.
Chief Justice (CJ) LHC Aalia Neelum took up for hearing the petition filed by counsel Fahmid Nawaz Thursday.
The court while upholding registrar office objection declared the petition non maintainable.
Registrar office had raised objection that Prime Minister (PM) and others cannot be made respondents in the petition.
Petitioner while making PM Shehbaz Sharif and all the provincial chief ministers respondents had taken the plea government has fixed Rs 37000 minimum salary per month in Pakistan. There are 32 lac government and 8 crore private employees in Pakistan. Increase in salary will enhance purchasing power of the citizens.
It has been said in the petition that court should order for fixation of minimum salary equal to 1000 dollars per month in Pakistan besides suspending the notification on fixation of minimum salary amounting to Rs 37000 per month.
