Ceremony in honor of medal winners in National Wrestling Championship

The medal winners in the National Wrestling Championship were awarded cash awards by the Sports Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a ceremony held at the Directorate of Sports, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jahan appreciated the outstanding performance of both medal winners Shah Faisal and Sohail in the National Wrestling Championship and paid tribute to them for bringing glory to the province.
He expressed hope that they will also win medals in the Quaid-e-Azam Games held in Islamabad due to their outstanding performance. Provincial Olympic Association President Syed Aqil Shah, DG Sports Abdul Nasser, Provincial Olympic Association Secretary Zulfiqar Butt and other personalities were present on the occasion.
Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jahan said that the provincial government is fully encouraging the talented players in the province and those players who are bringing glory to the country and the province because they are our valuable assets.
He said that the provincial government is making every possible effort to promote sports as per the vision of Quaid-e-Azam Khan and the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is also focusing on this sector because both our leaders have been sportsmen. Players of every sport are being encouraged here.
He said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent will participate fully in the Quaid-e-Azam Games for which training camps are underway at different locations of the Qayyum Sports Complex and it is hoped that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent will perform brilliantly in the Quaid-e-Azam Games. Finally, Provincial Sports Minister Syed Fakhar Jahan handed over prize checks of Rs. 100,000 each to the medal-winning players. On this occasion,
President of the Provincial Olympic Association Syed Aqil Shah thanked the provincial government and the sports department for always supporting the players.
He said that the training camp for the Quaid-e-Azam Games has entered its final stage and all the players have worked hard for the Quaid-e-Azam Games and it is hoped that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent will perform excellently.
PCB Inter-District Cricket Tournament, Mohmand District Team Reaches Final
Peshawar (Sports Reporter) Mohmand District defeated Khyber District by 42 runs to qualify for the final of the PCB Inter-District Peshawar Region Cricket Tournament.
In the semi-final, Mohmand District team batted first and scored 144 runs in the allotted overs. Naseer scored 32, Naveed scored 29 and Suleman scored 28. Tajdar of Khyber District dismissed four players. In reply, the entire Khyber District team was dismissed for 102 runs. Rizwan stood out with 48 runs.
Regional Sports Officer Peshawar Kashif Farhan, District Sports Officer Nowshera Zakaiullah, DSO Mohmand Faisal Javed and Assistant Sports Officer Khyber Kassam Khan were also present on the occasion of the semi-final. DSO Nowshera Zakaiullah appreciated the Directorate General Sports for organizing the tournament at the Nowshera tourist spot of Pahari Katikhel and said that this will not only promote cricket but also tourism.
