Students of the Postgraduate College, Landi Kotal demanded of the Higher Education Department,Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to affiliate their institution with University of Peshawar (UoP) in the best interest of them.
Addressing to a press conference head of the college students union Muhammad flanked by his cabinet members, Muhammad Shoaib, Shahan Shinwari, Dawood and others categorically condemned the decision of incumbent government to affiliate colleges of merged districts with Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) University.
It not only violates the rule of the Higher Education Commission, but also the University is still unrecognized and poor performance in universities ranking, they opined.
He maintained that the decision could jeopardize the future of the 400 students currently enrolled in the college.
We have conveyed our grievance to the Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs, Auqaf and member of the Provincial Assembly from the constituency but to in avail, they remarked.
They threatened suspension of teaching and learning activities not only in the Postgraduate College but also forcibly would lock the girls’ college besides announcing their protest sit-in in front of the college main gate.
The students demanded of the Members’ Parliament and Provincial Minister for Higher Education to revoke the decision to affiliate Postgraduate College, Landi Kotal with FATA University and save their precious time, wasting in agitation and protest sit-in against it.
It is to be mentioned here that December, 31, 2024 is the last date of affiliation fee with University of Peshawar.
