Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Health Ihtesham Ali announced on Thursday that another consignment of emergency medicines has been successfully delivered to Lower Kurram to address the ongoing crisis and ensure a steady supply of emergency medical supplies in the region.
The shipment, which includes 3,600 kilograms of medicines valued at Rs 5.4 million, was transported to Sadda via two MI-17 helicopters, said an official handout.
The medicines have been handed over to Medical Superintendent (MS) Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Sadda. The delivery had been delayed by one day due to bad weather.
In addition to the delivery in Sadda, emergency medicines have been distributed across various Basic Health Units (BHUs) in Upper Kurram, including BHU Kadman, Zeeran, Shlozan, Tri Mangal, Borki, Ghazgarhi, Kunj Ali Zai, Bushehra, Mali Khel, Agra, and BHU Jalandhar. As of today, medicines are available at these health centers.
Ihtesham Ali urged the parents of sick children in the area to take them to the nearest BHU for examination and to obtain necessary medications from healthcare professionals.
He assured that remaining medicines for other dispensaries will be delivered either today or tomorrow, ensuring that patients in these areas also have access to medical care.
The Health Advisor emphasized that every possible step is being taken to ensure the continuous supply of emergency medicines, with significant quantities already delivered to both Upper and Lower Kurram.
