Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labor, Fazal Shakoor Khan, visited the Working Focus Grammar School (Boys) in Haripur-II, located within the Family Quarters Labor Colony, to address issues related to the labor class and emphasize their importance in society.
During his visit, he assured that the government would ensure the provision of quality education, healthcare, and basic rights for the children of laborers.
Fazal Shakoor Khan also launched a tree plantation campaign at the school, planting a sapling to highlight the collective responsibility of environmental protection.
In addition, he distributed relief checks to the children of laborers.
The principal of the school requested that it be upgraded to the status of a model school, a request that the minister supported, stating that steps would be taken to equip the school with modern facilities to provide the best education for the children of laborers.
The minister also addressed the issue of laborers’ rights, emphasizing that the government would take immediate action to resolve issues such as non-payment of salaries.
He highlighted that over 400 companies in Haripur’s Industrial Estate employ thousands of workers but many lack access to social security and EOBI benefits.
The government plans to take practical steps to resolve this issue.
Fazal Shakoor Khan further discussed the proposal to establish a medical center in Khanpur, affirming that health facilities are a basic right for the labor class and this project would be implemented soon.
He also mentioned that the process of upgrading teachers would be completed soon under the FOF policy to improve the education system.
Former provincial minister Yousaf Ayub Khan also participated in the event and emphasized creating a system where investors and the labor class can collaborate for mutual development rather than conflict. The provincial minister appreciated the security arrangements made by Haripur police during his visit and reiterated the commitment of the KP Labor Department to address the challenges faced by the labor class and work for their welfare.
