Special counseling center for students opens at Islamia College Peshawar

In response to a tragic suicide incident at the historic Islamia College Peshawar, a special counseling center has been established for students, as announced by the institution.
The responsibility for student counseling has been assigned to the psychology department, said an official handout. Additionally, religious scholars will deliver sermons aimed at providing spiritual guidance to the students, as stated by the Provincial Minister for Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi.
The minister emphasized the importance of raising awareness among students about their psychological well-being alongside their academic duties. He also noted that the sermons by religious scholars would contribute to guiding the students in a holistic manner.
Khan further reiterated the importance of focusing on both education and co-curricular activities for students’ overall development.
Provincial minister affirmed that, following the model set by Islamia College, all universities in the province would ensure the provision of an optimal educational and social environment for their students.
