An important meeting held here on Friday with Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Sarmad Saleem Akram in the chair, reviewed the transition of brick kilns to modern zigzag technology.
The meeting, held in light of the provincial government’s orders, aimed to address environmental concerns and ensure safer, more efficient eco-friendly brick production in the provincial capital, said a handout.
The representatives of the brick kiln union and other stockholders also attended the meeting.
The meeting thoroughly discussed the potential environmental threats posed by traditional brick kilns units in Peshawar and explored the benefits of adopting zigzag technology as a solution.
Deputy Commissioner Sarmad Saleem Akram emphasized the importance of positive action from brick kiln owners to ensure both safety and enhanced production efficiency.
He urged the brick kiln union representatives to take all necessary steps to facilitate the transition and prevent any adverse environmental impacts.
The meeting also reviewed the government’s broader environmental policies and assured kiln owners that they would receive guidance and support throughout the process.
It was agreed that all brick kiln units should be shifted to zigzag technology as soon as possible, with a coordinated strategy in place to ensure a smooth and effective transition.
