Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government spokesperson Barrister Mohammad Ali Saif stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had agreed to engage in talks solely in the larger interest of the country. He urged the federal government to reciprocate this seriousness by also prioritizing the nation’s well-being.
Barrister Saif emphasized that PTI’s demands were rooted in the supremacy of the constitution and democracy, asserting that the party’s struggle for these fundamental principles continues.
In a statement issued here he highlighted that political stability was crucial for economic progress, stressing that without it, the country’s economic growth would remain unattainable.
In response to ongoing tensions, Mr Saif pointed out the inconsistency in the federal government’s approach. He noted that while the government expresses concerns over Imran Khan’s recent tweet, it fails to reflect on the language used by its own representatives.
He criticized federal ministers for holding press conferences against PTI on a daily basis, and remarked that even after talks began, Maryam Nawaz, CM Punjab and other ministers continued to issue statements undermining the process.
Barrister Saif stated that the lack of seriousness from the federal government, as evident in the statements from both federal and provincial ministers, undermines efforts to resolve the political impasse and move the country towards stability.
He reiterated that only through political stability can Pakistan’s economy begin to recover.
