The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Higher Education, Meena Khan Afridi has said that to ensure transparency in all recruitment tests conducted through ETEA and to eliminate human interference, all tests have been transitioned from paper-based to Computer-Based Testing(CBT). He said that all types of tests, including physical and written exams, are now broadcast live on ETEA’s social media page and so far 14 tests have been conducted, all of which were broadcast live.
He added that a comprehensive mechanism has been notified for facilitation of the candidates and general public to address public complaints and concerns, which will be resolved through this system.
The Provincial Minister was addressing a press conference regarding the performance of ETEA at the Information Cell in the Civil Secretariat, Peshawar, on Thursday. He was accompanied by Secretary Higher Education Kamran Ahmed Afridi and ETEA Executive Director Adil Saeed.
The Minister said that the CBT system has ensured 100% transparency while in order to maintain utmost security of the examination material during transportation, High-Tech Digital Lockers have been designed. He further added that with the computer-based testing system, the chances of paper material leaks have been eradicated, and candidates will no longer have to wait for results.
Moreover, the Minister said that this system has also put an end to re-totaling and re-checking.
He maintained that these measures have greatly increased public trust in ETEA tests. The Provincial Minister also mentioned that ETEA has started introduction of online khuli kachehris , and under the supervision of the Executive Director, three khuli kachehris have already been held.
He informed that strict action has been taken against impersonation and a large number of impersonators that of 242 apprehended on the spot at various stages of the tests and at lateral scrutiny of the vedio records, saying that all impersonators were handed over to the police for initiating legal action while the beneficiaries have been banned from all kinds of ETEA tests for 2years.
Mr Meena Khan said that ETEA’s office has been converted to a 70kV solar power system, which cost 10.03 million rupees.
” This solar system will save ETEA around 3 lakh rupees per month and 36 lakh rupees annually” he informed and said that ETEA has also generated a revenue of 56 million rupees.
Taliking about future course of action, the Provincial Minister mentioned that steps are being taken to implement an Artificial Intelligence-based paper generation system, which will completely end up all kinds of human intervention and enable the testing agency to prepare create papers in real time. He further added that, based on the transparency of ETEA’s tests, they are offering their services to other provinces for conducting transparent recruitment tests.
He said that a fund will be established under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) to offer scholarships to talented students.
