133 professional beggars arrested in Peshawar

The district administration has arrested 133 beggars, including 62 minor children, 41 male, and 20 female beggars on professional begging across Peshawar.
According to a statement, the crackdown was launched in the provincial capital under the supervision of Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud,
The minor children have been transferred to the welfare institution Zamung Kor, where they will receive free accommodation, food, and education.
The social welfare centers have been shifted to Darul kfala, where the beggars will be taught various skills to make them useful citizens.
The authorities have also identified a 24-member mafia contractor group that uses these beggars and thieves.
Their names have been provided to the Peshawar Police, and their arrest is expected soon, the statement said.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud has ordered daily reports from the police and has directed them to completely clean Peshawar of professional beggars.
