Narcotics awareness walk was conducted at Charwazgai,Tehsil Landi Kotal on Wednesday. The activity was organized under the auspices of students of a private college and was attended by people from different walks of life. Addressing on the occasion Tehsil Chairman Haji Shah Khalid, in-charge officer of Landi Kotal police station Islamuddin and others said that narcotics was a curse that created hurdles to develop a healthy society therefore time had come to make the tribal society free of drugs. It is ironic that a large number of locals especially, the youth community addicted to ice smoking, suffers from their active participation in the progress of the country, they remarked.
They stressed upon the parents not to leave their children on the mercy of God but have a close check on them to restrain them from being part of bad companies.
Drugs peddlers and dealers deserved zero tolerance, they added and said it was the duty of every single member of civil society to join hands with anti-narcotics forces to wipe out the curse of Khyber and the country.
The participants were carrying placards inscribed with slogans in favor of their demands.
