District Police held a Darbar in which various problems facing the force were discussed.
Officer (DPO) Rai Mazhar Iqbal highlighted initiatives to boost police morale, address their grievances, and ensure welfare.
He emphasized that Khyber Police, a force of veterans and martyrs must uphold the dignity and sanctity of the uniform. Officers were urged to maintain law and order, protect citizens, and treat both subordinates and the public with respect and fairness.
Calling drug eradication a priority, he instructed officers to intensify crackdowns on drug dealers and smugglers, working closely with community leaders. He assured that justice would be served without discrimination and that any failure in duty would not be tolerated.
DPO Iqbal announced that over Rs. 150 million had been approved last year from the KP Police Welfare Fund for officers’ welfare, medical facilities, and essential needs. Further steps would be taken to improve conditions for police personnel.
He also confirmed that children of martyred Khasadar and Levy Force officers would be recruited per legal requirements and that promotion issues of Khyber Police had been resolved, with notifications to be issued soon, adding that transfers and postings would follow policy guidelines.
“Consider public service your first duty, uphold honesty and professionalism, and play your role in maintaining peace and justice while honoring the traditions of Khyber Police,” he concluded.
