1,043 female athletes will participate in 12 different games in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Games organized by the Directorate General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa starting from February 20.
These games include badminton, table tennis, squash, athletics, volleyball, karate, basketball, taekwondo, cricket, judo, hockey and netball..
Additional Director General Sports Rashida Ghaznavi said that badminton competitions will be held at Abdul Wadood Hall Badminton Hall Peshawar, squash competitions at Qamar Zaman Squash Courts Peshawar, table tennis, hockey, volleyball, judo, karate competitions at Abdul Wali Khan Sports Complex Charsadda, and athletics and cricket competitions will be held at the grounds of the Peshawar Education Board.
These competitions will start from February 20 at 11 am. Talking to the media, she said that women had performed well in the previous games and this time too our players will perform well in the women’s events for which preparations have been completed. 42 in women’s badminton competitions, 42 in table tennis, 42 in squash, 126 in athletics competitions, 98 in volleyball competitions, 91 in karate competitions, 98 in basketball competitions, 98 in taekwondo competitions, 98 in taekwondo competitions, 98 players are participating in the competitions, 126 in cricket, 56 in judo, 126 in hockey and 98 in netball.
The Games will be officially inaugurated by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur. Teams from DI Khan, Bannu, Kohat, Mardan, Swat, Abbottabad and Peshawar regions will participate in the mega event.
All the players participating in the Games will be provided with daily and travel allowances, accommodation, sports equipment, shoes and kits. According to the vision of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur regarding the development of sports, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Games are an important step towards the promotion of sports under the leadership of Provincial Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Syed Fakhar Jahan, which is being organized with the efforts of the Directorate General team.
This will not only bring out new talent but also bring out the best players for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa contingent for the National Games to be held in May.
