IHCBA too challenges seniority in SC

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) has also challenged the matter of seniority of high court in Supreme Court (SC). Earlier 5 judges of IHC has challenged the seniority in SC. IHCBA has prayed in the petition president does not enjoy unrestrained powers to transfer judges as per clause 1 of article 200 of the constitution. Judges cannot be transferred from one high court to other high court without public interest. The petition has been filed by Riasat Ali Azad president IHCBA under article 3/184 in SC. It is pertinent to mention here 5 judges of IHC has also resorted to SC on the matter of seniority. 5 judges of IHC had filed petition against seniority in SC two days earlier. 49-page petition has been filed under clause-3 of article-184 of the constitution through Munir A Malik and Barrister Salah ud Din. The IHC judges who have filed petition in SC against seniority are justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiyani, justice Babar Sattar, justice Tariq Jahangiri, justice Saman Rafat and justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq.
