Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah reviews progress on development, road infrastructure and IT sector initiatives

Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shahab Ali Shah chaired a high-level meeting to review progress on development, road infrastructure, and IT sector initiatives. Senior officials from Planning & Development, Irrigation, Local Government, C&W, PHE, Finance, and IT departments attended the meeting.
He directed departments to expedite development projects for public benefit, ensuring efficient resource utilization, transparency, and accountability. Stressing the importance of timely completion, he emphasized tracking and monitoring mechanisms to enhance efficiency.
In a separate briefing on the Communication & Works (C&W) department, the Chief Secretary reviewed ongoing projects, including World Bank and ADB-funded schemes. He instructed the department to set timelines for pending approvals and prioritize strategic road infrastructure investments to boost economic growth and public safety.
Chairing a briefing on Science, Technology & IT, he lauded KPITB’s achievements, including digital stamping, Citizens Facilitation Centers, and training 16,000 youth under KPYEP. He praised the Dastak Public Service Delivery Platform, which has issued 94,000 arms licenses and generated Rs1 billion in revenue.
The KP Science Agenda was also reviewed, focusing on natural resources and emerging technologies like biomedicine, space sciences, and advanced materials. He stressed strengthening IT industry-student linkages to drive innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
The Chief Secretary reiterated the importance of tracking all development projects for timely execution and maximum impact.
