In a successful operation, the Excise Intelligence Bureau (EIB) has foiled a major narcotics smuggling attempt, seizing a large quantity of narcotics.
According to a statement the operation was carried out by EIB-5 Mobile Squad under the supervision of Provincial Incharge Excise Intelligence Bureau, Saud Khan.
The squad intercepted a vehicle (K-2034) near H-Gol Chowk, Peshawar, and recovered 102 kg of narcotics, including 90 kg of charas and 12 kg of opium.
The accused attempted to flee the scene, abandoning the vehicle on the roadside and taking advantage of the darkness.
A search operation was underway to apprehend the accused, officials said. A case has been registered at Excise Police Station Peshawar for further investigation and legal action.
