Officials kick off enrolment campaign; set a target of 6k out-of-school children

The district education department, in a move to strengthen the education system in the district, has set a target of around 6k out-of-school children (OOSC) in the government-run schools.
Officials of the education department and district administration, including District Education Officer Attaullah Kakar, flanked by the Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Naveed Alam, District Officer Education Sheikh Musa Khan Mandokhel, Deputy District Education Officer Tehsil Zhob Abdul Latif Mandokhel, District Manager Education Support Programme Razziq Jan Kakar, and DDO Kakar Khurasan. Nasrullah Kakar, president of the Government Teachers Association Maulana Mashhood Shah, and Umer Jillani of the CPD said that the enrollment drive has been started across Balochistan by the Education Department in collaboration with UNICEF-ESP.
The education official said that the enrollment campaign is aimed at reducing the dropout rate and achieving the desired target. All available resources are being utilized for the purpose, he vowed. “A target of enrolling 5921 out-of-school children, especially those from a marginalized background has been set for the academic year 2025 in the district. Free textbooks and other reading and writing materials are being distributed among the schools,” the EDO said, adding walks and seminars will also be organized, aiming at creating awareness in both urban and rural areas, where people from different walks of life will participate.
