Amendments to KP Assembly Rules of Business a historic milestone: Suriya

Deputy Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Suriya Bibi, has termed the amendments and drafting of a new version of the 37-year-old Rules of Business as a historic milestone for the provincial legislature. Chairing the concluding session of discussions on the final chapters of the proposed amendments in the provincial assembly’s conference room, Suriya Bibi, who also serves as the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Rules and Regulations, emphasized that these changes would significantly enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of assembly proceedings.
The session was attended by Members of the Provincial Assembly (MPAs) including Abdul Salam Afridi, Dawood Shah, Anwar Khan, Taj Muhammad Tarand, Munir Laghmani, and Sajadullah. Officials from the Law and other departments were also present and provided expert opinions on the matter.
Deputy Speaker Suriya Bibi appreciated the dedication and hard work of all committee members and officials involved in the process. She announced that the revised draft would be presented for review in a post-Eid session before being tabled for final approval in the assembly.
She also revealed that committee members would soon visit the Senate to observe its proceedings as part of their legislative study and capacity-building efforts.
