Zahidullah Shinwari appointed as member of PCSIR central council

Zahidullah Shinwari, former president of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry has been appointed as member of the central council of the Pakistan Council of Scientific and Industrial Research Council (PCSIR).
According to an official notification issued by the federal government has appointed Zahidullah Shinwari, former president of the SCCI from the industrial sector as a member of the council for the next three years.
The purpose of the council is to jointly build a better public private partnership for productivity, quality and innovation as well as building the knowledge based economy for industrial development, the notification said.
To establish and manage research institutes, laboratories, and centers for selected industries; coordinate and oversee their work; administer existing research units of the Council on an interim basis; and conduct scientific and technological surveys and investigations assigned by the Federal Government, are also included key objectives of the council.
On the occasion, SCCI president Fazal Moqeem Khan, business leader Ghazanfar Bilour, and traders’ community welcomed the decision of the federal government and congratulated Zahidullah Shinwari, former SCCI president for appointing central members of the council of the PCSIR.
Zahidullah Shinwari said they will present proposals in consultation with the SCCI and business community to the federal government through council to enhance productivity, quality, especially adopting modern technology and tools for industrial development.
Former SCCI president emphasized improvement in productivity and standardized, global competitiveness for the local products.
It is noted to mention here that Zahidullah Shinwari has already rendered services as a member of various boards and institutions at federal and provincial level.
