LAHORE: The earthquake measured 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted Islamabad, parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Gilgit-Baltistan on Saturday. Its depth was 94 kilometers and epicenter was located near the border region between Afghanistan and Tajikistan. Its tremors were felt also in Srinagar and Jalalabad city of Affghanista. Tremors were felt in Punjab areas of Rawalpindi, Lahore, Mandi Bahaud Din, Toba Tek Singh, Hafiz Abad , Chiniot, Nankana Sahb. Okara and surrounding areas. The tremors shook the areas of, Murree, Peshawar, Lower Dir, Bajaur and Malakand. The quake caused panic among the people and they came out of their homes and offices reciting Kalima Tayyaba.
