DLP Report
PESHAWAR
The 31st meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet was held in Peshawar on Thursday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur.
The meeting was attended by cabinet members, the chief secretary, additional chief secretaries, senior members of the Board of Revenue, administrative secretaries, and the Advocate General of KP.
Briefing the media on the cabinet decisions, Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that the Chief Minister strongly condemned the Indian government’s provocative response following the Pahalgam incident.
Terming India’s behavior “aggressive, regrettable, and intolerable,” CM Gandapur warned that any Indian aggression would be met with a “befitting response.”
He accused the Modi-led government of exploiting the incident to unjustly target Pakistan under a “well-planned conspiracy” and described the episode as a clear reflection of India’s internal governance failure.
Expressing sorrow over the loss of human lives, the Chief Minister said, “India is trying to hide its incompetence by directing baseless accusations at Pakistan. Any misadventure will cost India dearly. The people of Pakistan are united for the defense of national sovereignty and peace in the region.”
The provincial cabinet approved amendments to Section 12 of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Charities Act 2019, making it mandatory for charitable organizations to renew their registration every two years.
A new Part IX-A has been added to the West Pakistan Land Revenue Rules 1968, focusing on land demarcation and the eviction of illegal occupants. This amendment is in line with Sections 121, 122(2), 129(1), 148, and 182 of the West Pakistan Land Revenue Act 1967.
Approval was given for the appointment of two new members to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa IT Board.
The cabinet allowed the KP Board of Investment and Trade to utilize Rs 25 million from existing savings to meet salaries and office expenses.
A grant of Rs 1 billion was approved to ensure the uninterrupted operation of the Peshawar BRT service during the current fiscal year.
The cabinet endorsed the KP Assembly’s Joint Resolution No. 132, which strongly opposes the proposed amendments to the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA). The resolution declares the amendments a violation of press freedom and democratic values, expressing full solidarity with the journalistic community.
Amendments to the 1985 Business Rules were also approved, requiring the Department of Social Welfare, Special Education, and Women Empowerment to present an annual gender parity report to the provincial assembly.
