PESHAWAR
PTI Central Secretary Information Sheikh Waqas Akram on Saturday announced the formal launch of the party’s Kisan Wing.
Sheikh Waqas Akram, speaking at a press conference in Peshawar, condemned the ongoing hardships faced by farmers across Pakistan, stressing the need for immediate reforms to support the sector.
He revealed that PTI’s founder had instructed the reactivation of the Kisan Wing, which has been dormant for several years, to better represent farmers’ concerns.
“The voice of the farmer will now be the voice of PTI,” Akram declared, reinforcing the party’s commitment to the welfare of the agricultural community.
He emphasized that PTI remains the largest political party in the country and that farmers have placed their trust in its leadership.
“Currently, farmers are losing up to Rs 900 billion due to mismanagement and government neglect,” he said.
Akram also raised concerns about the looming wheat shortage in Pakistan, warning that the country may face a critical supply crisis.
Despite this, he criticized the government for spending billions of rupees on wheat imports, while failing to make adequate investments in supporting local farmers.
