PESHAWAR: Secretary General of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Humayun Khan, has strongly criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government for failing to address rampant deforestation across the province. He said the provincial government has been more focused on PTI chairman release and blame games than on pressing environmental issues. “Deforestation is continuing unchecked in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and it seems to be taking place with alarming enthusiasm,” said Khan. “This environmental degradation is destroying the province’s ecosystem and poses a severe threat to both climate stability and local wildlife.” He warned that the rapid loss of forest cover is accelerating climate change, with consequences that could impact millions of lives. “The KP government is asleep while deforestation continues unabated. Urgent action is needed before the damage becomes irreversible,” he added. DLP Report
