VC KMU hands over additional charge of ICPU to new VC

In a ceremony held at Islamia College University, Peshawar, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq, Vice Chancellor of Khyber Medical University (KMU), Peshawar officially handed over the additional charge of Vice Chancellor of Islamia College University to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Ahmad ur Rehman Saljuqi.
Speaking at the event, Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq expressed his gratitude to the provincial government for entrusting him with the additional responsibility, describing it as an honor and privilege to serve an institution that is the pride and identity of the province.
He highlighted several significant achievements accomplished during his brief tenure, made possible through the dedication and support of the university’s faculty, administration, and support staff. These include the implementation of an e-filing system, long awaited promotions of faculty and staff, recovery of encroached university land, removed harassers, revived Rs. 2B project, introduced technical subjects, got 6 campuses approved, recovered Rs. 20 crore fees, addressed hostel & discipline issues, appointed principal, convocation and the international standard renovation of the historic lawn.
He noted that these accomplishments were the result of collective teamwork and congratulated the university’s staff and faculty for their commitment and cooperation. Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Ahmad ur Rehman Saljuqi, the university would continue its journey of growth and excellence.
He further hoped that Dr. Saljuqi would lead the university to new heights of success, maintaining its legacy of academic excellence and historic significance.
In conclusion, Prof. Dr. Ahmad ur Rehman Saljuqi and the university staff thanked Prof. Dr. Zia ul Haq for his services and expressed hope that he would continue to support and guide the institution in the future with the same passion and dedication.
