ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi visited the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) here on Friday where he was given a comprehensive briefing on the country’s potential flood threats. The session, held in the presence of NDMA Chairman Lieutenant General Inam Haider Malik, included detailed updates from heads of various departments. Officials informed the Governor about water levels and potential flood risks in the Indus, Kabul, Kurram, Kunhar, and Swat rivers. The briefing highlighted that Dera Ismail Khan and surrounding areas could face significant destruction in the coming days due to possible severe flooding. Governor Kundi expressed concern over the increasing impacts of climate change, saying that extreme weather patterns are becoming more evident and are contributing to growing challenges. APP
