Pakistan’s security forces have once again demonstrated resolve in their fight against terrorism. As reported, three terrorists were neutralised in Dera Ismail Khan while attempting to assemble an improvised explosive device. In a separate operation, thirty militants were eliminated while trying to infiltrate via the Pak-Afghan border in North Waziristan. These back-to-back successes not only prevented potential carnage but also sent a clear message to those who persist in destabilising the country.
We must recognise and appreciate the relentless sacrifices of our armed forces. It is their vigilance that keeps countless innocent lives safe in the face of this ongoing menace. But let us not be under any illusion, this is far from over. Militancy continues to pose one of the most significant obstacles to Pakistan’s path towards stability and prosperity. The scourge of terrorism has claimed far too many innocent lives, disrupted economic progress, and kept entire regions under a cloud of fear.

Moreover, recent evidence has highlighted what many have long suspected: the funding and support for these groups is not merely local but driven by hostile elements who seek to weaken Pakistan from within. This is not simply a law and order challenge; it is a matter of national security and sovereignty. The only way forward is a comprehensive, proactive strategy, one that combines intelligence, force, diplomacy, and socio-economic measures to root out terrorism and its enablers.
We hope that the state machinery keeps its focus sharp. The time for reactive measures alone is long past. Sustained action, coordination across institutions, and cutting off the financial pipelines of these groups are essential if we are to secure a future free of this threat. Pakistan’s enemies may plot in the shadows, but it is the duty of the nation to ensure they never succeed.
