Adviser to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Barrister Dr. Saif, has said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was taking serious steps to eliminate terrorism and restore law and order in the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In a statement on Thursday, Dr. Saif said the provincial government was planning to convene an all-party conference (APC) soon to formulate a joint strategy for peace in the region.
“All political parties will be invited to the APC, and in this regard, the Chief Minister has also called a key meeting of elected MNAs and MPAs from the merged districts,” he said.
Dr. Saif emphasized that all stakeholders, including political parties, local leaders, and communities, must come together to address the root causes of terrorism and ensure lasting peace. “Chief Minister Gandapur is committed to restoring peace and accelerating development in these areas,” he added.
He noted that the grievances and deprivations of the people of the merged districts must be addressed to effectively counter extremism. “The purpose of the FATA merger was to bring these areas on par with the rest of the province in terms of development, services, and rights,” Dr. Saif said.
He reiterated that eliminating terrorism was a shared responsibility, and collective efforts are needed to ensure peace and progress in the tribal districts.
