Rescue 1122 Swat to launch mobile app for emergency response, says Marwat

District Emergency Officer of Rescue 1122, Rafiullah Marwat, has reaffirmed the department’s commitment to providing immediate assistance in all emergency situations, stating that reforms are being expedited following the recent tragic incident in the Swat River.
Speaking on Pakhtunkhwa Radio FM 98’s, Rafiullah Marwat expressed deep sorrow over the loss of precious lives in the Swat River tragedy and said the department stands with the affected families in their grief.
He noted that after the incident, the performance of Rescue 1122 under review to provide modern equipment and enhanced professional training to staff for better preparedness in future emergencies.
“Rescue 1122 is being equipped with modern technology, including rescue boats, advanced kits, and specialized gear to improve emergency response in rivers, mountainous regions, and remote areas,” he said and added that a new mobile application was in development to facilitate public access to rescue services.
Designed to function even without mobile network coverage, the app aims to significantly boost rescue efficiency and responsiveness.
He also urged hotel owners near the Swat River to fulfill their social responsibility by properly guiding tourists and helping prevent accidents. He appealed to the public to contact Rescue 1122 immediately in case of emergencies and to follow safety protocols to minimize risks.
