Husband, wife among gang held for house theft

Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a husband-wife duo involved in a series of house theft in the limits of Agha Mir Jani Police Station. According to a statement issued here, action was taken on the directives of DSP Yakkatot Circle Saeed-ur-Rehman Khan.
The statement stated that a special police team comprising SHO Agha Mir Jani Shah Police Station Ajmal Hayat Khan, investigation officers, and the Ladies Police, successfully apprehended a husband-wife duo involved in a series of house thefts. The operation was conducted under the supervision of DSP City Division, Atiq Shah Khan.
The arrested suspects, identified as Ihsanullah and his wife who during the initial investigation confessed to stealing gold ornaments, cash, and other valuables by entering homes under the guise of selling household items and distracting female occupants through conversation.
During the investigation, the police recovered Rs 5.6 million, which the suspects had obtained from the sale of the stolen ornaments. The female accused has been transferred to the Women Police Station for further interrogation, while efforts are underway to apprehend other members of the gang.
Following the directives of senior officers, a specialized team led by SP City Muhammad Atiq Shah, DSP Yakka Tot Circle Saeed-ur-Rehman, and SHO Ajmal Hayat Khan, with the support of forensic evidence and CCTV footage, traced and arrested the culprits. During questioning, the accused not only admitted to their crimes but also provided information about other accomplices, who are now being pursued by law enforcement.
Senior police officials have commended the efforts of the investigation team, emphasizing that operations against organized criminal networks will continue to ensure the safety and security of citizens.
