Sindh High Court (SHC) has extended till September 12 its stay order regarding Sindh Ombudsman order to remove Chief Executive Officer (CEO) K-Electric Moonis Alvi from his post.
Petition filed by CEO K-Electric Moonis Alvi against Sindh Ombudsman order regarding his removal from his post came up for hearing before Justice Muhammad Iqbal of SHC.
Sindh Ombudsman and the woman respondent filed replies.
Sindh Mohtasib said during the hearing of the case that petition filed by Moonis Alvi is non-maintainable. It should be rejected. Case regarding power of jurisdiction is pending hearing in Supreme Court (SC) while SHC is not authorized to hear the case regarding power of jurisdiction.
During the hearing of the case counsel Abid Zubairi said his client Moonis Alvi has filed appeal with governor Sindh. The appeal has been fixed for hearing by governor Sindh on Monday.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal remarked how can he be removed from his post unless appeal is decided. We wrap up the case unless the appeal is decided. Governor is hearing appeal then it should be persuaded therein. It is so big punishment. How can it be awarded.
The petitioner said we are seeing so much things in this case for first time.
Justice Muhammad Iqbal remarked you may be seeing things for the first time. We are seeing so many things more after 26th constitutional amendment.
The court while directing counsel of Moonis Alvi to file reply to reply extended stay order in regard to removal of Moonis Alvi from his post till September 12.
