Govt committed to promote education, safeguard teachers rights: Dr Shafqat

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Science and Information Technology, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz, along with Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi and Advisor on Finance Muzammil Aslam, attended a ceremony at the University of Agriculture Peshawar to distribute the Pensioners Fund.
The event was organized in collaboration with the Universities Intellectuals Forum (UIF) and the Higher Education Department. Addressing the gathering, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz said the provincial government was committed to promoting education and research while also safeguarding the rights of teachers and pensioners.
He said that timely provision of the Pensioners Fund was recognition of the valuable services of retired teachers and employees, and the initiative would continue more effectively in future.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the fund was distributed among the pensioners.
Later, Dr. Shafqat Ayaz and Meena Khan Afridi visited Islamia College Peshawar, where they met representatives of student organizations and advised them to extend maximum support to students from distant areas during the admission process. Dr. Ayaz urged student groups to avoid disputes and resolve differences amicably to maintain a peaceful and positive academic environment.
He stressed that education was the real power that would bring personal success and enable youth to play a leading role in the country’s development. “The future of Pakistan is linked to the knowledge, research and positive thinking of its youth,” he added.
