DC reviews relief measures for flood victims

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Swat, Saleem Jan Marwat, to review coordination and the effectiveness of relief measures for flood victims. The meeting discussed in detail the immediate rehabilitation of the affected families and the formulation of a comprehensive action plan, a handout said.
The statement said that the session was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Finance) Syed Noman Ali Shah, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Relief and Human Rights) Naimatullah Khan, as well as representatives of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Islamic Relief Organization, Al-Khidmat Foundation, Lasona Organization, UNICEF, Sarhad Rural Support Program, and other welfare bodies.
Participants emphasized that the needs of the flood victims should be given top priority and that relief items must be distributed according to their actual requirements to ensure effective and fruitful assistance.
On this occasion, DC Swat Saleem Jan Marwat said that “all institutions should ensure public service with mutual cooperation and coordination so that timely, transparent, and comprehensive assistance could be provided to the flood-affected people.”
