The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) carried out a successful operation in Mardan, arresting two Afghan nationals in possession of fake Pakistani identity cards.
According to the registered FIR, the Afghan nationals were caught attempting to obtain Pakistani passports using the forged IDs. The report further revealed that the fake identity cards were allegedly issued by the NADRA officials in Tehsil Rustam.
FIA sources confirmed that both the Pakistani ID cards and Afghan Tazkira (national identity documents) were recovered from the suspects. During interrogation, the accused admitted to holding Afghan citizenship.
FIA stated that the operation not only prevented the issuance of passports but also exposed a wider network of fraudulent activities involving local officials. Investigations are underway, and further arrests are expected.
