Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Public Health Engineering Fazal Shakoor Khan on Friday chaired a high-level review meeting to assess progress on the Gravity Flow Water Supply Scheme in Mansehra, being implemented with financial assistance from the Saudi Fund for Development (SFD).
The meeting was attended by Public Health Engineering Secretary Masood Younis, the project director and other senior officials.
Officials briefed the meeting on the overall progress of the scheme, ongoing construction work, financial and technical matters, implementation timelines, key challenges and the proposed way forward.
The project director informed the minister about the various phases of the project and the progress achieved so far.
Addressing the meeting, Mr Khan said providing safe, clean and sustainable drinking water to the people of Mansehra remained one of the provincial government’s top priorities.
He said the gravity flow water supply scheme would play a key role in ensuring a reliable and sustainable supply of potable water to residents of the district.
The minister directed the relevant authorities to accelerate the pace of work, ensure that construction met prescribed quality standards and utilise all available resources to complete the project within the stipulated timeframe.
He stressed that the scheme should be completed on schedule so that its benefits could reach the public without delay.
