KARACHI: Sindh High Court Election Tribunal (SHCET) has issued notice to Election Commission (EC) Returning Officers (ROs) and rival candidates on the petition filed by JI candidates against election results of 4 Union Councils (UCs). The petitions filed by JI candidates against election results in respect of 4 UCs came up for hearing before SHCET. Counsel for the petitioners Taimore Mirza advocate took the plea the position of town chairman can be affected due to decision regarding Union Council No 6. The rival candidate was declared successful despite Ghias Ahmad Abbasi gained more votes. The petition is pending hearing since 5 months. People mandate is being violated due to delay. The SHC ET while issuing notice to EC, ROs and rival candidates for September 24 has sought reply. It is pertinent to mention here candidates of different UCs of Safora town including Muhammad Shahid and Habib ur Rehman have filed the petitions. One Wajid Ahmad Khan has too filed election petition from union council Gulshan Iqbal Town. Online
