A solder was killed and around eight others wounded when an explosive packed suicide bombers car strucked the main gate of 26 FF Corps headquarters established in Tirah Maidan area of district Khyber, sources said on Friday.
They said that the attack was carried out at the main gate of the Zakhakhel, Parak Bungalow 26 FF headquarters in the limits of Tirah Valley’s Maidan police station.
The suicide bombers in a explosive-laden car blew himself up at the main entrance, killing a havaldar identified as Arshad martyred while injuring around eight other security personnel.
The outlawed group Ittehad-ul-Mujahideen Pakistan and Lashkar-e-Islam(LI) claimed responsibility for the attack.
According to the group’s statement, the operation was carried out as a “fidayeen attack” by Qari Umar Afridi.
Security sources said that a search and clearance operation is underway in the area, while the injured personnel were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital.
