PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers staged a protest outside the Peshawar Press Club (PPC), strongly condemning the recent attacks on political leaders Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Sardar Akhtar Mengal, calling the incidents an assault on democracy and the rule of law. A large number of PTI workers participated in the demonstration, carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands and messages in support of democratic values. The protest was attended by Member of National Assembly (MNA) Shandana Gulzar, PTI leader Irfan Saleem, and other party leaders. The protesters chanted slogans against the government, demanding accountability and justice for the attacks. They termed the incidents “cowardly acts” aimed at silencing democratic voices and diverting political leaders from the path of democracy. Speaking at the occasion, the demonstrators stated, “An attack on Mahmood Achakzai and Akhtar Mengal was not just an attack on individuals, but an attack on democratic values and freedom of expression in the country.” DLP Report
