KHYBER: A bid of smuggling was foiled when the police recovered 169 kg of drugs from Peshawar bound car here in Wali Khel market, main Pak-Afghan highway tehsil Landi Kotal district Khyber, police said on Tuesday. Station House Officer(SHO)Landi Kotal police station, Adnan Afridi said that on the strict direction of District Police Officer(DPO),Khyber, the police started tie knots against narcotics peddlers and in this connection the local police party under the head of ASI Bahar Gul stopped a suspected Peshawar bound car in road blockade. During the search 102 kg hashish, 50 kg ice and 17 kg heroin were recovered hidden in various cavities of the vehicles, SHO said. One allegedly drug smuggler identified as Khaista Rehman son of Lal Badshah, an Afghan national, presently residing in Piro Khel village of Landi Kotal was arrested and put behind the bars for further investigation, police said. DPO, Khyber Rai Mazhar Iqbal said that it was the mission of the police to keep the society clean of narcotics and to protect the new generation from the negative impact of it. Drug smuggling was the curse and the police crackdown would be continued to wipe out the anti-social act of the Khyber, he vowed. Our Correspondent
