Police ordered to intensify security, ensure protection of foreigners

Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Muhammad Ali Babakhel has directed senior police officers across the province to strengthen law enforcement efforts, prevent security breaches, and ensure foolproof protection of foreigners, especially Chinese nationals.
Presiding over a high-level video link conference at the Central Police Office, Peshawar, the Acting IGP emphasized timely intelligence-based actions, stringent security of police installations, and thorough audits of residences and work sites of foreign nationals.
According to a statement issued here stated that the meeting was attended by DIGs of CTD, Operations, Special Branch, Commandant Special Security Unit, CCPO Peshawar, AIG Operations, and all regional and district police officers. It said that during the meeting special directives were issued to secure China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and political figures, conduct regular search and strike operations, and enhance monitoring of suspicious movement at district levels.
Separately, the Departmental Selection Board meeting chaired by IGP Zulfiqar Hameed on September 19 recommended the promotion of 20 Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs) to the rank of Superintendent of Police (SP). Following approval by Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, a formal notification was issued by Additional Chief Secretary Home, Abid Majeed.
Acting IGP Babakhel congratulated the promoted officers, expressing confidence in their professionalism and urging them to uphold public trust with integrity and responsibility.
The promted officers include Zahidur Rehman, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Mustafa Kamal Pasha, Azmat Ali Khan, Shabbir Hussain Shah, Shehzadi Naushad, Rozia Altaf, Shazia Shahid, Mazhar Jahan, Shakeel Ahmed, Arbab Shafiullah, Rafiullah, Muhammad Atiq Shah, Muhammad Ilyas, Alam Zeb, Farmanullah, Zafar Ahmed, Kamal Hussain, Ishaq Gul, and Ibrahimullah.
